When I am looking to have a more completely traditional look I add a sporran. I only bought one off the rack though. The rest of mine have been made to my own design specs, in my favorite colors and textures to match favorite shirts or boots or just to stand out as a unique accessory.
I find that a thick belt completes the look of a kilt and use one even with my later kilt purchases, some of which weren't designed with a belt in mind.

I have also favored boots of various types. With one exception, regular old school cowboy boots. I just don't like the way they look without pants in them or over them. Unless they are worn with no pants, shorts or kilt at all, in effect the naked cowboy look,

which I do find very sexy. Back to boots with a kilt, hiking and work boots and similar styles of military boots of various types have been my go to choices for most casual or kink themed events. But when I am looking for a more formal choice I use lace up ropers, which are actually an alternative a style of cowboy boot.

To wear with my kilts I have favored long socks of various types and textures. They range from thin silk socks to thick wool socks, also cotton and acrylic. some are smooth others have textured stripes and others have cable or rope texture. Colors range from black and navy blue to primary colors like red and yellow, also dark red and dark green and grey, even brown, and beige. Of course the traditional off white cable knit does show up but really only in cotton.
